Thank you for participating in the FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn Beta Test. Testing an MMORPG is a different process compared to testing your typical console game. Because MMORPGs have so much content, development teams cannot properly balance these games on their own. And so, to ensure a quality product, they must enlist the cooperation of dedicated players like you who are willing to play and assess various aspects of the game.

The FFXIV: ARR beta will be divided into the following four phases of testing: - Phase 1
  - Core systems functionality
  - All playable character animations
  - Early game progression / Leveling speed
  - Markets / Item search - Phase 2
  - All Phase 1 elements
  - Gamepad functionality
  - Phase 1 feedback revisions - Phase 3
  - All Phase 1 and 2 elements
  - Early game progression for all regions / classes
  - Version 1.0 character data migration
  - Phase 2 feedback revisions - Phase 4 (Open Beta)
  - Final balancing of core systems and beta content

As we progress through each phase and more content is made available for testing, we hope to receive plenty of feedback. However, please don't forget that having fun is also a vital part of the testing experience! Although there's a lot of hard work ahead, your participation will help ensure a quality game experience for everyone to enjoy.

Step 1: Apply your Registration Code to your Square Enix Account

The first thing you must do is apply your FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn Beta Test Registration Code to your Square Enix account.

*	Please use the registration code enclosed in the e-mail that you received.
*	Please note that if you do not already possess a Square Enix Account, you will be required to create one.

Step 2: Sign into the Beta Tester Forums

After registering the Beta Test Registration Code to your account, you should sign into the FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn Beta Tester forums.

*	You must use the Square Enix ID and password of the account that the FFXIV: ARR Beta Test is reregistered.
*	If this is your first time logging into the forum, you will be required to choose a nickname. Please note that you will not be able to change the nickname after it has been set.
*	If you participated in the Alpha Test, your nickname will be the same as it was for the Alpha Test.
*	Please be sure to read “Please Read Before the Beta Test” when logging into the forums for the first time.

As stated in the “FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn Tester Agreement,” testers are prohibited from disclosing any proprietary information related to the Beta Test. Beta Testers shall not disclose, publish, distribute, transmit, post, or otherwise make available, directly or indirectly, any Confidential Information regarding specifications of the Beta version, technology, bugs and information available on the Beta Tester forums (including the opinions of yourself and others) to any other person or external sites (including blogs and social media sites). In the event that we confirm that infringement has occurred, your rights to be a tester will be revoked and your FINAL FANTASY XIV account will be suspended. As we progress through the phases of the Beta Test, we are planning to remove the limitations on publicizing information. A separate announcement will be made when this becomes possible, so please abide by the above guidelines until that time. Please conduct all feedback and discussions with other testers on the Beta Tester forums.
